About VRAIN
VRAIN is a University Research Institute of the Universitat Politècnica de València, established as such by the Valencian Government in 2021 and one of Spain's largest dedicated AI research centres.
With over 30 years of collective AI research experience, the institute brings together more than 176 researchers working across eight specialised groups.
Our research spans nine areas of AI, from natural language processing and machine learning to intelligent agents and software production methods. We conduct both fundamental and applied research, with sustained emphasis on technology transfer and doctoral training.
Our Technological Offer includes 24 software platforms and patents, alongside 35 specialised AI services available to industry and public organizations.
A defining focus of our work is Trustworthy, Ethical, and Responsible AI — the development of systems that are accountable, explainable, and aligned with societal needs.
As a member of CAIRNE and partner in established European research networks, we contribute to the advancement of human-centred AI research.
