Intelligent agents are autonomous software entities that perceive their environment, make decisions, and take actions to achieve specific goals—often collaborating with other agents and humans in complex socio-technical systems. At VRAIN, we are pioneers in multi-agent systems research, developing platforms and technologies that enable flexible, dynamic coordination among multiple autonomous agents.

Our research includes agreement technologies that allow agents to negotiate and reach consensus, agent-based simulation platforms for urban mobility and smart city scenarios, and human-centered AI systems that enhance collaboration between people and intelligent machines. We have developed platforms like SPADE and Magentix2 that provide robust infrastructures for building open multi-agent systems applicable to logistics, e-commerce, healthcare, and industrial automation.

We also focus on affective computing—systems that recognize and respond to human emotions—and serious games that leverage AI for education and training. Our human-centered approach ensures that AI technologies augment human capabilities rather than replace them, creating more effective and satisfying interactions.
